Weather at the Shore
Grey light, wet sand, and walking through weather along the Oregon Coast instead of around it.

Bad weather can make a shore feel more honest.
The beach is not performing as an idea of escape. It is wet, grey, windy, and still beautiful. A person walking through that weather gives the frame a human tempo.
Some days are worth photographing because they refuse to brighten up.
Imperfect weather often gives documentary photography its feeling. I bring that same openness to Alberta sessions, where wind, cloud, snow, or rain can become part of the memory instead of a problem to solve.
