Hands at the Workbench

Hands usually tell the truth before a face does.

At a workbench, the photograph becomes less about the object being made and more about the care around it. The lowered head, the practiced grip, the small pause before the next movement all carry the weight of repetition.

I like images where skill is visible without being announced.

That same attention matters in documentary photography for weddings, families, and personal branding sessions. Whether I am photographing an Alberta maker, a Calgary wedding morning, or a family at home, the details of hands and gesture often hold the clearest part of the story.
