Bridge in the Trees

Forest crossings, shadow, and the little pull of a path suspended above water in Jasper National Park.

Wooden bridge crossing through a dark green forest

Bridges give a landscape a sentence.

They say cross here. They give the eye a route through branches, rock, and shadow. Even when no one is visible, the photograph carries the idea of movement.

The best crossings feel discovered rather than announced.

A path through a frame creates a feeling of continuation, which is part of what I like in story-driven photography. It is a small visual habit that carries into wedding coverage and lifestyle family photography when people are moving from one moment into the next.
