White Ground
Pale desert, distant mountains, and a single vehicle crossing the open white ground of the Utah Salt Flats.
Open ground can make everything feel newly placed.
A vehicle, a person, a mountain line. With so little visual noise, each element has to carry its own weight. The photograph becomes almost diagrammatic, but the heat and distance keep it human.
Sparse places are good at showing proportion.
Open desert and white ground are reminders that a simple frame can still feel cinematic. In Alberta photography, I often look for the same clean relationship between person, place, and distance.
