The Ripple Effect

An abstract water note on green light, submerged movement, and the ripple effect of looking down.

Abstract green and blue lake water seen from above

Water keeps changing the photograph after it is made.

The green surface holds shadow, light, and movement in layers. Nothing stays sharp for long, which is part of why the frame keeps pulling the eye around.

I like the title The Ripple Effect because it gives the abstraction a little direction. One disturbance changes the whole surface.

Personal work like this keeps me attentive to texture and reflection. Those small visual habits carry into portrait, wedding, and landscape photography too.
