Newborn Quiet
A note on soft rooms, small scale, and photographing the beginning of a family chapter.

Newborn photographs ask for a slower kind of attention.
Everything is small: hands, breath, the shift of light across a blanket, the way adults move more carefully than usual. The room has its own pace, and forcing it rarely helps.
I try to photograph that first season gently, as something still becoming.
Newborn and family photography asks for patience more than production. In Calgary homes or quiet Alberta rooms, the best images usually come from slowing down enough to let the first season show itself.
