A good engagement portrait usually starts with comfort.
Trees give people cover. The photograph can feel observed without feeling exposed, which is often exactly what a couple needs at the beginning of a session.
For Alberta engagement photography and couples sessions, I look for simple direction, honest posture, and locations that help people feel like themselves rather than like they are performing for a camera.
