PlacesDidsbury, Alberta
Field Light in February
Notes from a cold afternoon when the prairie between Didsbury and Olds, Alberta looked almost silver.

February light has a particular restraint. It does not flood the frame so much as settle into it.
I drove west with no real plan beyond watching the fields change color. By late afternoon the snow had gone dull gold at the edges, and every fence line looked deliberate.
Some days the work is only to notice.
Alberta light changes quickly, especially in winter, and that keeps the work honest. I bring the same attention to weather and season into Calgary family photography, engagement sessions, and documentary wedding days.
